CO2 Laser Technology
While many procedures utilize the tried-and-true scalpel and suture technology, the use of a CO2 laser minimizes hemorrhage and deadens nerve endings at the surgical site. This allows for greater comfort for the patient and easier post-operative care for the owner. Often, we can avoid the use of sutures altogether. Our laser unit is most often used for feline declaws, canine dewclaw removal, and surgeries of the ear, eyelid, and oral cavity, as well as small dermal masses. In certain surgical procedures, we often utilize laser technology with local anesthesia to avoid the use of general anesthesia.
